Christian’s Story

Christian’s Story

Christian was my son, and he was only 16 years old when his life here on earth ended.

But Christian’s story is so much more than the way he died. His story is about the way he lived, the faith he carried, and the love he had for Jesus.

Even when Christian was young, he thought about God and eternity in a way that still amazes me.

When he was only 12 years old, he wrote in his diary:

“If I go up early, don’t be sad… I want to be with my Creator.”

At 14, he sent a message saying that if he died, he wanted us to remember that he was in paradise.

Christian talked about heaven. He talked about Jesus. He encouraged others to read the Bible. He served as a youth leader and wasn’t ashamed to worship God.

One moment that especially captures Christian’s heart happened at church camp. He told his pastor:

“Even if we don’t feel like worshiping God, He is still worthy of our worship.”

Those words have stayed with me.

Christian wasn’t here nearly as long as I wanted him to be. As his mom, I would give anything for more time with him. But the 16 years God gave me with Christian mattered—and his faith mattered.

That is why Christian’s Legacy of Faith exists.

I don’t want Christian’s story to end with his death.

I want the faith he carried to keep reaching people. I want his life to encourage someone to open a Bible, help someone in need, bring someone closer to Jesus, and remind people that this life is not the end.

Everything done through Christian’s Legacy of Faith is meant to carry that legacy forward.

Love each other, but most importantly, love God.

Those were Christian’s words.

And that’s the legacy I want to continue.
